Treat your sweetheart to a sunset sail aboard the two-masted Argia, an authentic replica of a 19th-century gaffrigged schooner with trips originating in Mystic. The sail includes cheese and crackers (BYOB), beautiful coastline scenery, and a view of Morgan Point Lighthouse, circa 1868. (The two-story granite structure is privately owned.)
Explore downtown Mystic, a historic village lined with the stately homes of former sea captains and whalers. Tour Chamard Vineyards in Clinton. One of many vineyard on the Connecticut Wine Trail, Chamard produces fine wines from classic European grapes, and is especially known for its Chardonnay. Located on 40 acres of gently sloping fields, Chamard features an elegant tasting room with a large fieldstone fireplace and a deck with panoramic views.
Dine and/or stay at the Bee & Thistle Inn in Old Lyme. Consistently voted one of the most romantic inn’s in the state by vacationers, the restored 1756 home offers antique-filled guestrooms with goosedown pillows, a restaurant serving creative American cuisine, and seasonal packages for couples.
