The theatre has earned many of the nation’s most distinguished awards, including the Regional Theatre Tony Award, the Margo Jones Award for Development of New Works, OBIE and New York Critics Circle Awards, an Elliot Norton Award and a 2007 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Award. The mission of Hartford Stage is to create high quality, professional, innovative theatre of consistent artistic and cultural significance for its regional audience and for theatre in America. It is vitally important to the success and future of Hartford Stage that community members of all ages and backgrounds are introduced to and educated about the place of theatre and drama in modern society.
