| Description: | Sightseeing Fun! Nothing binds family and friends like the thrill of steam and the adventure of a sightseeing journey. Enjoy a two and a half hour, narrated steam train and riverboat excursion through the Connecticut River Valley, so beautiful that the Nature Conservancy named it one of the "last great places" on earth. The only Steam Train and Riverboat connection in the country! At the historic, 1892 Essex Station, you will board vintage rail cars pulled by an authentic steam locomotive. The train meanders through the countryside to Deep River Landing, where you are escorted onto the "Becky Thatcher" Riverboat. Aboard "Becky's" 1 hour cruise along the Connecticut River, you will delight in breathtaking scenery and view historic landmarks such as Gillette's Castle and Goodspeed Opera House. When :Becky" returns to Deep River Landing, the steam train welcomes you for the return trip to Essex Station. Make any occasion special aboard the Essex Clipper Dinner Train. Relax to the rhythm of the rails while our two and half a hour scenic journey transports you away from the complexities of everyday life. Enjoy a four-course meal freshly prepared on board and served in lavishly restored 1920s Pullman Cars. Our attentive staff takes you back in time to when rail travel was king and "dinner in the diner" was a delicious event. The Essex Clipper is scheduled weekends, May through October, and is available for private events. For schedule and seasonal menu, visit www. essexsteamtrain.com.
