Skate for free seven days a week at the ice rink on the east side of Bushnell Park near the Pump House. Come after work, on your lunch break or as apart of a trip downtown to see some of the city's cultural treasures. Free skate rentals.

November 20: Opening night with DJ Cajar, Mayor Pedro Segarra and Santa Claus. Be at the rink ar 4 p.m., and follow Santa to the carousel for free rides and photos from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
November 20 & 27: Santa's Workshop at the Carousel, 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturdays and Sunday, noon-3 p.m. (through Dec. 20). Get your photo taken with Santa Claus, visit with special guests and make a craft.
December 2: Get HYPEd at Winterfest; a casual event that offers an opportunity to network with other young professionals.
December 1-January 23: Learn to Skate Classes. Free ice skating lessons from Champion Skating Center instructors. Saturdays only, form 10 a.m.-11 a.m.
December 12: Winterfest Ugly Sweater Stroll. Stroll, drink and be merry with 100 of your newest and equally festively-dressed friends. Need to obtain tickets.
December 31: First Night Hartford. The rink will be open from noon until midnight.
January 22: Fire and Ice; annual event at the Pump House Gallery.
