"Take Note! 75 Years of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra"

May 21 - August 10

Seventy-five years ago, while America was in the midst of the Great Depression, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra was born, proving to be a bright spot in a bleak economic environment. The story of how the HSO grew from humble beginnings to become a vibrant regional treasure is the focus in this exhibition.

The exhibit includes archival materials from the Connecticut Historical Society and Hartford Symphony Orchestra collections that tell the story of the people who came together to form the HSO, the musicians, the community they serve, and the ten music directors and conductors who have served as the creative driving forces behind the music.
