Rent this lodge by the month or by the week. Great for family or friends reunion. This turn of the century lake lodge is in township of Barkhamsted. It is in the foothills of the Berkshires, nestled at the northwest bank of Connecticut's clearest lake, West Hill Lake. The owner has retained the nostalgic feel of a comfortable antique lake home while updating it with state-of-the-art insulation and central heating. The original fireplace was of course retained as well. The architecture is in the style of Adirondack arts and crafts. Much of the furnishings are of that style as well. There are four bedrooms each with direct access to a full bathroom. All four bedrooms open onto an interior balcony which overlooks the living room and a bank of windows. There are more cozy nooks around the house with studio beds. Renters have the option of renting a completely separate apartment on the far end of the house. There is a country kitchen, the family room is spacious, as well as the living and dining area and library alcove area. The old fashioned wrap-around porch overlooks the lake, a pine forest, a huge dock, boat house, kayak rack, and beach (all on the premises). There are plenty of other quaint New England villages nearby as well as walking and biking trails.
