Cooley Gallery

Behind the unassuming yellow storefront of The Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme, Connecticut you will find four light-filled rooms exhibiting one or possibly all of the gallery's specialties in American art.  In one gallery you might see premier examples of American Impressionism or Tonalism by artists from the Lyme art colony like Guy Wiggins, Childe Hassam, Wilson Irvine, Clark Voorhees, Bruce Crane, Frank Vincent DuMond. In another you could find exhibition of historic oils by Samuel Colman, Richard Hubbard or Aaron Shattuck or watercolors by a member of the Hudson River School.  In the other two galleries you might find pastels by a newly discovered historic painter near the work of an emerging contemporary sculptor. Whatever you find, if you are a fan of American art, you will not be disappointed.
