Quick Center for the Arts

Category: Performing Arts
Fairfield University
1073 N. Benson Rd.
Fairfield, 06824

The Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University is a multi-faceted facility that opened in 1990. It is situated in a continuously growing community that serves a large and ethically diverse population, an ideal environment where the Center can grow while meeting the needs of the surrounding community. It houses the 740-seat Kelley Theatre, the 150-seat Lawrence A. Wien Experimental (Black Box) Theatre, and the Thomas J. Walsh, Jr. Art Gallery. The Center has quickly become known as one of the finest concert halls in this country. Events include popular and classical music, dance, theatre, special events, and programs for young audiences. With each event, and as our own growth unfolds, we add workshops, master classes, lecture/demonstrations for the community and students at the University. Outreach is a significant component of the Center’s mission. One focus is in the arts-in-education area, in which we schedule our series performances with additional engagements for the local school districts. There are additional programs to help supplement the local school districts in the educational process in cultural and arts activities. Through grants and funding, the Quick Center helps subsidize these programs for the schools. The Walsh Art Gallery hosts 4-6 free exhibits a year. To find out more about the Quick Center’s programs call the box office toll-free at 1(877) ARTS-396 or (203) 254-4010 or on the website at www.quickcenter.com In addition, the Quick Center is available for rentals.
