Winding Trails, is Connecticut's only full service cross country ski center is waiting for you. Nestled in 350 acres of majestic forest, Winding Trails provides a quick getaway into a peaceful winter wonderland, centrally located in the beautiful Farmington Valley, just 10 miles southwest of Hartford. 13 miles of groomed trails: The network of trails and daily grooming schedules are at the heart of cross country enjoyment. Skiers will find hours of pleasure traveling through prime woodland with bubbling brooks, and spring fed ponds. The wide, double tracked trails on gently rolling terrain provide even the first time skier, with a positive and fun experience. The entire Winding Trails cross country trail system is completely mapped and marked with degrees of difficulty. Vacationers: First timers and those who need equipment are welcome at Winding Trails. Our facility caters to all who seek outdoor winter recreation. We have a lodge with a continuous fire burning. We have a rental shop that will outfit young and old. We operate a small retail shop if you prefer to buy. We run a daily ski school and the snack bar provides light refreshments throughout the day. Non-skiers: Not ready to try cross country skiing? Winding Trails has sledding, ice skating and snowshoeing to keep the rest of your party busy and happy. You can bring your own equipment, or rent equipment in the Rental shop which features more than 200 sets of rental equipment, including skating skis.
