Connecticut’s Seafood Festivals 2019 Last Updated 8/19

New England is known for mouthwateringly fresh seafood, and Connecticut is right in the heart of it. Late summer and early fall bring annual seafood festivals and events to towns statewide, not just along the shoreline. Here are a few of the largest.

Milford Oyster Festival, Milford

August 17, 2019
The festival has one of the largest variety of oysters at any festival in the country. Entertainment this year includes Extreme in a free performance on Saturday. Opening for Extreme is Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime. In Lisman Landing, events include a craft beer area, car show, a children's stage, more than 200 arts and crafts vendors, schooner rides, canoe and kayak races, and much more.


Norwalk Oyster Festival, Norwalk

September 6-8, 2019
Held at Veteran's Park on scenic Norwalk Harbor. Music, amusement rides, arts and crafts, food court, demonstrations, harbor tours, an oyster pavilion and much more.


Chester Lobster Festival, Chester 

September 7, 2019
Get your fill of lobster, steak, live music and much more at this annual festival in Chester.


Beer & Oysters on the Sound, New Haven

September 15, 2019
This family-friendly event brings together the bounty of the sea and land. Enjoy fresh food while looking over the scenic Long Island Sound.


New England Chowdafest, Westport

October 6, 2019
Grab a spoon, ballot and pencil, and sample chowders and soups from 40 award-winning restaurants. This popular and delicious fundraiser supports causes in the fight against hunger.


Mystic Seaport Chowder Days

October 12-14, 2019
Visit Mystic Seaport Columbus Day Weekend for all kids of chowders, bisques, and other seafood favorites. Special event activities include live music, horse and carriage rides, games, a scarecrow activity, face painting, and arts and crafts in the Children’s Museum.
