Friday Your Way with #OwnFriday

American workers are not taking enough vacation time. According to a study by Project Time Off, 52% of Americans left vacation days unused in 2017, adding up to 705 million vacation days untaken. Worst of all, less than half of the vacation time taken—just eight days—was used to travel. Equally surprising is that 9 in 10 Americans say they have not seen enough of their own country. It’s time to put a stop to this. And we’re going to start right here in Connecticut!

Introducing #OwnFriday!

Planning a vacation can improve your mood, your physical health, your relationships with family and significant others — even your professional success. Not ready to book a week off yet? Take a day — how about Friday?

Pick a Friday and Own It

Plan a Friday off from work and do something new right here in Connecticut. Visit a town you’ve never been to, try a new activity like Segway or zip-lining. Sip a frozen wine slushie or chill with artisanal ice cream in a bubble cone. You can even spend the day somewhere that’s crowded on the weekends, like one of Connecticut’s popular beaches or amusement parks.

Get Away Without Going Far Away

Make it a long weekend! If you live in Connecticut, (or New York or Boston) you’re perfectly primed to enjoy a long weekend away. Head for the beach, or for the hills. Spend time strolling in art museums or step back in time in one of Connecticut’s historic towns. Find some great getaway ideas here.

Share It with Us @CTvisit

Be sure to post your #OwnFriday photos on Facebook and Instagram so we can see how you’re spending your hard-earned time off! (Don’t worry, the boss will never know!)
