"Seaside Saturdays"

August 3 - December 31

The Bruce Museum’s mission is to promote the understanding and appreciation of art and science to enrich the lives of all people. While the museum is open to visitors by reservation for timed ticketed entry, we also plan to engage and interact with you through all of the channels available to us. This means the Bruce Museum has gone digital.

Going forward, the digital programs and offerings that serve this mission will look different, but will offer the same commitment to art and science as all of the Museum’s offerings. The latest program is Seaside Saturdays, a weekly series of educational activities released as part of the Bruce Museum Seaside Center’s Digital 2020 Season.

In week No. 1, naturalist Brendan Murtha helped young learners identify Seaweed common to the Long Island Sound shoreline, as well as offering some fun art activities inmvolving seaweed. There's also a fascinating new lesson that takes a deep dive into learning more about the different types of sand you may find along the beaches, marshes and dunes.
