Established in 1864, Cedar Hill Cemetery encompasses 270 Acres of landscaped woodlands, waterways, and memorial grounds. An urban oasis, Cedar Hill serves as a sanctuary for Connecticut history, impressive funerary art, and natural beauty.

To date, more than 35,000 people have been laid to rest at Cedar Hill including manufacturing magnate Samuel Colt, financier and philanthropist John Pierpont Morgan, discoverer of anesthesia Horace Wells, Tuskegee Airman Lemuel Custis, and four-time Best Actress Oscar winner Katharine Hepburn.

Open 365 days a year, visitors are invited to explore the art, history, and natural beauty of Cedar Hill Cemetery. Informational materials are available in the brochure rack located along the entrance drive. Quiet recreational activities, such as walking, birding, and photography, are permitted.

Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation offers guided walking tours and other events seasonally from April through October.
