Overlooking beautiful Lake Waramaug, our 1870 farmhouse offers an ideal location for a relaxing getaway. Less than a two hour drive from New York City, the historic Litchfield Hills are waiting to be explored.
The four guest rooms are elegantly decorated with fine antiques, comfortable reading chairs, and luxurious beds. The B&B has many quiet corners, unwind in the garden with a good book, relax with a cup of tea by the fire, or enjoy the sunset and lake view with a glass of wine on the porch. Spacious waterfront property is just a short walk out the front door and down the road, the Lake Waramaug state park offers boat rentals during the pleasant months. Wine lovers won’t want to miss a taste of our family’s estate grown wines next door at Hopkins Vineyard.
However you choose to spend your stay we’re sure you will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
In addition to the B&B we also run a working sheep farm. The Sachem Farm, est. 1787 is home to a registered flock of Bluefaced Leicester and Romney sheep producing fine single flock wool yarn. Fiber artists and animal lovers will enjoy spending time with our sheep and our mischievous guard donkey, Georgia. Sheep farming is our passion and we’re always happy to share our flock and knowledge with interested guests.
We’ve made Lake Waramaug our home for many years and welcome the chance to share our love of the area with you to ensure a wonderful visit.Less
