Pride Celebrations 2023

June is Pride Month, and there are LGBTQ celebrations and events planned for towns all over the state. Here are some of the happenings taking place in Connecticut.

Ridgefield's Pride Flag Raising Ceremony

June 1

Kick off Pride Month with Ridgefield CT Pride along with Ridgefield’s First Selectman, Rudy Marconi, who will raise the Pride Progress flag which will fly high in front of Town Hall for the month of June. Attendees will be treated to an original poem read by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita, Barb Jennes which she wrote for the occasion.

Middletown Pride Fest, Middletown

June 3

Afternoon street fair filled with food, entertainers, activities and features our Pride March, Pride Rally, and Pride Showcase Concert.

Ridgefield's 4th Annual Pride in the Park

June 3

Enjoy a parade around the park plus a variety of activities, crafts, entertainment and informational tables geared towards all ages. 

My Grown Up & Me: Rainbow Themed Craft

June 7

Kids and their grown-ups are invited to come and create a vibrant, carousel-inspired rainbow project to take home and enjoy. 

PRIDE Story Time, Craft, and Children's Carousel Rides

June 8

This event is perfect for kids and families who want to celebrate individuality and creativity. Learn how carousels have played an important role in LGBTQ+ history.

Pride in the Park: Fairfield County Pride, Fairfield

June 10

Pride in the Park is Fairfield County’s family-friendly LGBTQ Pride festival filled with entertainers and diverse local performers.

Pups & Pride Parade, Canton

June 10

Walk your pups in the 2nd annual parade to celebrate pride month!

 

Picnic for Pride

June 10

Join friends on the New Milford Town Green and bring a picnic lunch. There will be music, games run by the New Milford Youth Agency, a photo booth, a community art piece, LGBTQIA+ crafters and artisans, and social service organizations that focus on helping and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Suffield Pride, Suffield

June 11

Second annual LGBTQIA+ Pride event! Live music, art, photo booth, vendors, kids stuff, and more.

Before Stonewall: Documentary Viewing and Discussion on Club Carousel

June 15

Watch the documentary "Before Stonewall" and discuss the history and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community as well as the history of Club Carousel, the first queer club in Calgary. This event is a great opportunity to deepen your understanding and support for the PRIDE movement.

My Grown Up & Me - PRIDE Story Time

Queer Craft Night - Pronoun Art

As you make crafts and celebrate the diversity and creativity of the LGBTQ+ community, honor the important contributions of queer firefighters throughout history by watching several short documentaries.

International Festival of Arts & Ideas, New Haven

June 10-25

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas celebrates and builds community, engages with vital issues, and promotes the arts year-round. The 2023 Festival, RISE, will be help June 10-25 and feature 150 events, from fashion and music to dance, theater and more! 

SHAG Festival, Washington

June 22-25

Enjoy 4 days of nature, creativity, music, and collaboration at Spring Hill Vineyard's exquisite SHAG Festival.

Queer Trivia Night

June 29

Get ready for an exciting and educational evening of trivia at the Museum of Fire History. This event is perfect for the LGBTQ+ community and allies who want to test their knowledge and learn about the important contributions of LGBTQ+ firefighters and first responders throughout history.

Greater Bridgeport Pride

July 29 - 30

This two-day event will be a remarkable opportunity to unite as one and honor the LGBTQ+ individuals who contribute to the rich tapestry of Bridgeport's culture. Event includes a march through downtown Bridgeport as well as Unity in the Park, a family-friendly event featuring a range of activities and festivities that will leave a lasting impact on the community.
