Eric Sloane Museum and Kent Furnace

Category: Historic Site
31 Kent Cornwall Rd.
(Rte. 7)
Kent, 06757

Eric Sloane, noted author of 38 books and well known artist, assembled an extensive collection of hand tools. The museum displays these plus examples of his art work and his studio.  This season the museum highlights Sloane's interest in weather, skies and aviation with special exhibits and programs. Many of his book titles and art prints are sold in the museum shop.

An exhibit in the museum and a walking trail with interpretive signs tells about the local iron industry.

This is a Connecticut Blue Star Museum which invites active military personnel and their families to visit their museums free of charge all summer long (Memorial Day, May 26 through Labor Day, September 1, 2014).
