One of Connecticut's gems, Lake McDonough is a scenic, unspoiled public recreation area that offers numerouse ways to enjoy the beauty of the area. With wheelchair accessibility to beaches, bathhouses, the boathouse and picnic areas, as well as a fully accessible nature trail for the disable and the blind.

Fishing by boat and from the shore (3rd Saturday in April-Labor Day). Fishing from shore is also permitted through Nov. 30. A wheelchair accessilbe fishing pier is located on the south end of the lake.

MDC provides rental rowboats for a free; private boat, canoe and kayak launching is allowed for a gee.0

Buses by permit only; no buses on weekends or holidays.
