Griswold Inn Griswold Inn Griswold Inn Griswold Inn

One of the oldest continuously operating inns in the country, The Griswold Inn opened its doors for business in 1776 and has been catering to yachtsmen and overland travelers ever since. Situated in the historic hamlet of Essex and nestled on the banks of the Connecticut River, The Griswold Inn is a very special place. Although the Inn exudes the charm of a day gone by, it is anything but dated. From its sophisticated cuisine, extensive wine offerings, and comfortable accommodations it offers the best of times.

The Inn offers 34 charming accommodations and three different dining options under its roof: Historic Dining is a classic experience enjoyed in atmospheric, art-filled spaces; Tavern Fare is offered in the award-winning Tap Room where lively music rings out nightly; a more contemporary culinary experience is featured in its stunning Wine Bar, and patio dining is also available in season.

Other amenities: The Inn has a private patio for hotel guests to enjoy. Goods & Curiosities ~ The Griswold Inn Store is just across from the Main Inn. More shopping, attractions and Essex Harbor are just outside the Inn’s front door or nearby. Free parking and free wi-fi.
