Halfinger Farms is a family owned and operated pick your own daffodil, greenhouse and pumpkin farm. Our PYO daffodil farm, Dancing Daffodils, is located on a lovely, 1790 historic property. It offers visitors a place to unwind, reconnect with themselves and loved ones, and of course, to pick as many daffodils as they would like. Dancing Daffodils is Connecticut’s first pick your own daffodil farm. The greenhouses have become a place our customers really look forward to coming to; they call it a destination greenhouse farm. We have become known for the incredible selection of plants we grow. We take great pride in what we do, and work hard to grow the highest quality plants possible. We feature a specialty watering system that recycles our irrigation water. Visitors love exploring the greenhouses and all the plants we grow in them.

Early Spring: Pick your own daffodil farm, Dancing Daffodils, opens in mid-March. Picking continues through early May. Call ahead for daily picking updates, (860) 345-4609. We grow beautiful spring plants such as pansies, violas, lettuce gardens and perennials. These are sold at the daffodil farm. The greenhouse farm opens in April, call ahead for exact date.

Late Spring: A fantastic time in the greenhouses. With the longer days of late April and May, the plants go through a major growth spurt. This is a great time to pick out a beautiful Mother’s Day gift, a flowering spring planter or dash of color for yourself.

Early Summer: Late May, June and early July are carefree times in greenhouses. With temperatures warmer, and the danger of frost or freeze is disappearing, gardeners are now free to pick out plants without being concerned about their tolerance to cold. We grow transplants of all types such as: vegetable plants including 30 varieties of tomatoes, herbs, flowering annuals and perennials, deck planters, hanging baskets, herb combinations and so much more.  The farm is closed for retail sales in early July and August and reopen September 1.
