Hang with the Gang - Bus & Bike Tour Ideas Around Connecticut Last Updated 5/19

Traveling with your pack or your posse, Connecticut has some cool ideas for experiences best experienced with a group. From beer tasting to scavenger hunts to Segways, here are few ways to say “the more the merrier” in Connecticut.

Less driving

A good New England tour operator like Hayfield Quality Tours offers convenient bus trips to Connecticut that inform and entertain. And Connecticut Beer Tours are a great way to check out the state’s many craft breweries (or vineyards, cideries or distilleries) without worrying about driving.

Of course, if you’d like to travel on foot, nothing says group fun like a scavenger hunt. New Canaan’s Treasure Hunt Tours can arrange action-packed, self-guided hunts for adults and kids, including themed parties and food tours. CityHunt hosts several scavenger hunt-style activities in and around Hartford, or you can even take part in a Zombie Scavenger Hunt in and around the New Haven Green.

You can also search for current scavenger hunts happening around the state, here.

More riding

For fun, fitness and great sightseeing for the whole gang, consider an organized bike tour like the Connecticut Shoreline Bike and Boat Tour, combining a 20-mile guided bike ride along the shore with a 45-minute boat tour of the Thimble Islands in Branford. The Bicycle Tour Company in Kent offers custom trips or self-guided rides. And the Quiet Corner Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) hosts weekly guided group rides that welcome riders of all levels who are looking for comradery, great exercise and fun on the trails of northeastern Connecticut.

Speaking of fun, the Elm City Party Bike gives you a different kind of workout as you and your friends (new and old alike) pedal and party your way through the streets of New Haven  And just down the road in Guilford, you can explore the town by taking a Segway tour! There are also Segway tours in Mystic and New London too.
