Instagrammable Connecticut: Connecticut Bucket List

We’ve teamed up with Fox61News this summer to find out what’s on everyone’s Connecticut bucket list. We then asked viewers to share their bucket list experiences by including #CTBucketList in their photos. We’re delighted to see all the destinations that Connecticut residents have been crossing off this summer. Here are a few #CTBucketList photos to provide inspiration for your own Connecticut bucket list.

Buttonwood Farms in Griswold, CT

Besides its sunflower garden, which is displayed at the end of July, Buttonwood Farms offers hayrides, train rides for kids, delicious ice cream and plenty of seasonal activities.

“Nothing says summer like Buttonwood Farms, and that’s why I put it on my CT bucket list. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited in our state. The proceeds from their “sunflowers for wishes” event go entirely to the Make-a-Wish foundation in CT. I think others should include it on their bucket list because it’s something different and fun to do during the summer and fall season.” – Vanessa R.

The Harbor Lighthouse at Lighthouse Point Park is also known as the Five Mile Point Light because it sits just five miles from the center of New Haven.

“Lighthouses always hold some sort of historical mystery, which draws me to them. This lighthouse is surrounded with beautiful views of the eastern shore and miles of trails to walk. It’s definitely a destination to add to your bucket list. Not only is this place great for its park and beach, but also the historical carousel that sits a few hundred yards from the lighthouse.” – Rob C.

Brewport in Bridgeport, CT

Brewport is a modern-industrial brewpub that offers a variety of craft beer and pizza.

“I would definitely recommend everyone to add this brewery to their CT bucket list! The beer and the thin crust pizza did not disappoint, also the atmosphere and aesthetic were great! My favorite thing is the beautiful murals on the building.” – @Connecticut Honey

“As a mom, I’m always looking for new adventures for my family. Every time I have a day off it means a new place to explore. I was looking for a place that we haven’t been and that my daughter would enjoy. Others should include Lavender Pond Farm on their CT bucket list because it’s very beautiful and one of those gems that no one really knows about.” – Nubia

Gillette Castle in East Haddam, CT

Gillette Castle is a real-live castle that was once home to popular stage actor, William Gillette.

“We went to Gillette Castle because my son has never been and we thought it would be a fun experience for him. Even though he is only 5, he was so intrigued and excited to be in a real castle. We not only walked through the castle, but also on some of the trails around it and enjoyed a picnic on the grounds. There is quite a bit to do and explore there, I recommend adding this site to your CT bucket list.” – Lacey H.

Grace Farms is a hidden gem and offers something for everyone, whether you wish to enjoy nature and the peaceful surroundings, participate in a variety of family programming, or explore the architecture of the River building.
