Art, music and design venues, one-of-a-kind boutiqesu and more than 30 eateries populate this 26-block, National Register Historic District. Nathan Hale (the official state's hero), Benedict Arnold, and Nobel Prize-winning playwright Eugene O'Neil once walked these streets. Some of United States' greatest architects left their mark in the buildings. From the collection of Tiffany glass windows in its cathedral to the country's oldest operating courthouse and custom house, to the quirky shops and plentiful entertainment, New London is a great place to visit.
